This is definitely a fun read. Also an interesting read. It seems the post-fame lives of the almost-made-it-really-big are full of the same crazy, sad, funny, insane and impossible events we associate with much bigger celebrities. But whereas the bigger names of the entertainment industry come across as superficial and light, Cooper has managed to make the unbelievable events and lives of B-level rock stars seem believable, convincing and even meaningful - to the point where I'm not really sure if this is fiction. The characters -whacked out as they are - the story telling, and especially the dialogue all had me convinced. If you openly (or secretly) share in our cultures obsessive rubber neck curiosity over celebrities, or if you're fascinated by the exaggerated, hilarious and often grotesque characters and lifestyles associated with rock n' roll, you'll find Jukebox to be both an interesting and entertaining read.
